Christopher Cieri was trained as a linguist working principally on language contact and variation in phonology but his day jobs for the past several decades have focused on the intersection of corpus building, linguistic analysis and human language technology development and evaluation. Since 1998 Chris has been the Executive Director of the Linguistic Data Consortium where he oversees LDC operations including the creation and distribution of hundreds of databases. Leisure activities include deftly avoiding having any recent photos taken.
