Judith Tonhauser is an Associate Professor of Linguistics at The Ohio State University. She holds an M.A. in Computational Linguistics from the University of Stuttgart and a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Stanford University. She conducts research on formal semantics/pragmatics with an empirical focus on Paraguayan Guaraní, a Tupí-Guaraní language spoken in Paraguay. Her research areas includes temporal, aspectual, nominal and modal reference, presuppositions and other projective contents, focus and prosody, and evidentiality. Her research has appeared in the Semantics and Linguistic Theory (SALT) proceedings, in the Handbook of Semantics and in various journals, including Language, International Journal of American Linguistics, Journal of Semantics, and Linguistics & Philosophy.
