Colin Phillips is Professor of Linguistics and Distinguished Scholar-Teacher at the University of Maryland, USA, where he also is Director of the Maryland Language Science Center and Associate Director of the Neuroscience and Cognitive Science Program. His research examines the cognitive and neural mechanisms that underlie detailed linguistic representations, and spans linguistics, language acquisition, psycholinguistics, and cognitive neuroscience, with an emphasis on cross-language comparisons.
